Surfer Hospitalized After Being Stalked by a “Demon Sea Lion”

Move over, Jaws—there’s a new terror in the water. California surfer R.J. LaMendola was hospitalized after a bizarre and aggressive encounter with what he described as a “demon sea lion.”

While out on his board, LaMendola says the animal repeatedly charged at him with its teeth bared. Eventually, it bit him, landing him in the hospital with a wound on his buttock.

Local wildlife authorities confirmed that sea creatures in the area have been acting erratically due to Domoic Acid Toxicosis—a neurological condition caused by toxic algae blooms. The illness has been making typically docile animals aggressive, turning the ocean into an unpredictable nightmare.

Royal Air Force Engineers Shamed for Stealing Paddington Bear Statue

Paddington Bear is a beloved cultural icon in the U.K.—so vandalizing his statue was not a smart move. Two British Royal Air Force engineers were caught on a drunken night out kicking and yanking a Paddington statue until it split in two. Then, they took the front half with them.

A judge wasn’t having it, calling them out in court:

“Paddington Bear represents kindness, tolerance, and promotes integration and acceptance in our society. Your actions were the antithesis of everything Paddington stands for.”

The two men have been sentenced to community work and ordered to pay over $3,500 to repair the statue. The RAF is now considering additional disciplinary action—and social media is already piling on the shame.
