Youtubers catch heat for ending adoption over social media!

2nd Annual BeautyCon New York City Festival

In this day and age of influencing, some people will do anything and everything for the “like”. Everything from filters, photoshop and fake luxuries can be found on most explore pages or even some timelines. However, one California couple known for their antics to drive views and likes on Youtube are catching heat for taking things a little too far. In the footage uploaded to Reddit, Youtubers Nikki Phillippi and her husband Dan Phillippi can be seen updating followers on their 2018 adoption process after announcing they’d be adopting from Thailand. “After you pick up your child, they are your child but you’re not allowed to talk about them or share any images, photos, videos, anything about them online,” says Nicki. “I mean Nickki’s got a Youtube channel and we share a lot,” he husband Dan added. Nikki explained that they decided to withdraw their application as they would not be able to share the baby on social media’. “So we were like going round the houses like trying to figure it out how this could work like ‘Hashtag baby blur face’.”

Reddit users were quick to point out the couple's concern with how they’d look on social media over the adoption of the baby. “Seriously ?!?! If they get no recognition, they won't go through with it. So gross,” one commented. “Wow. Just wow. This is enough to get them banned from future adoption. This is disgusting.”. Since then, Nikki and Dan Phillippi welcomed a baby of their own and continue to share parenting experiences on their Youtube. Last week, the couple caught backlash for euthanizing their dog after biting their son, which was also documented on their Youtube. Nikki's video sharing page has amassed 141 million views with 1.28 subscribers, while husband Dan boasts over 16,000 to his channel.
