Not headed out of town this weekend but gonna find yourself on I-5, I-405, SR something or another or a ferry this weekend to head to a loved ones house for Thanksgiving? Did you know that you can completely avoid traffic pile ups and spend less time in your car thanks to a real time map WSDOT released predicting heaviest times for traffic over the weekend?

Welp, good news! I found it for yah! There is nothing that can kill the holiday spirit more than sitting in gridlock traffic on I-5 when you have your mind on turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing smothered in gravy on your mind.

According to the different tools WSDOT offers to track traffic, the best time for commuting via ferry is after 9a on Thanksgiving Day, while most of the bulk of traveling on the interstates happens between 10a-6p. Suggestion, maybe plan to leave a little before 10a and after 6p to head home!
