Well that's kind of a bummer. After celebrating the 79th bday of the Showbox in Seattle yesterday, it was announced today that the music venue will be demolished to build a residential building for 400+ units.
The Showbox has hosted an array of shows from Coldplay to Kesha, to Maroon 5 and Daft Punk among many others. It has been a landmark in Seattle for nearly 80 years.
Needless to say, but residents of Seattle are not thrilled for a couple of reasons. Comments on The Strangers IG below expressed their unhappiness about more towers being built in downtown Seattle at the expense of some of their favorite landmarks.
