Apple is unveiling the iPhone 15 next week and a drastic change is coming.
From this point forward the charging port on the phone will switch from its usual proprietary Lightning connectors and adopt USB-C as a standard for charging and data transfers, according to KTLA.
Why? Because the European Union has put out a mandate that all manufacturers adopt a common charging connection by 2024. That means all laptops, phones, cameras, headphones, and more have to use one universal connection.
Honestly, I like this movement. A "one-size fits all" system will make things way less complicated. What do you think?
