If you didn’t make it to Day In Day Out, I must say you missed out! It’s safe to say it’s been over a year since I’ve gone to a festival like this because of the pandemic. Now although I have gone to different festivals like Juneteenth, and Umoja fest, there's still something different about going to Day In Day Out. Why you may ask? Well, because it's a bunch of people I don't know 🤷🏾♀️ When I go to Umoja Fest, or Juneteenth celebrations it's literally a ton of people that I already know. Day In Day Out, was an experience that reminded me of when go to the Capitol Hill Block party, which makes complete sense because Day In Day Out was actually put on by the same people that do Capitol Hill block party.
Now, although two of the artist I really wanted to see were not there due to illness, I still had an amazing time. To be around so many people from the Seattle area that were there to just have fun was dope. No one had a bad attitude, if they did I definitely didn't run into them, and everybody was just so carefree but in a good way of course.
Upon arrival I was handed three drink tickets, so you already know I had to at least get one drink before I went down to the main event which was down below. One thing I will say that was different about this particular festival versus say a Capitol Hill Block party is there’s only one stage. Usually, when we have festivals there are multiple stages but in this case, there was one stage which I think is great because it put everyone on the same scale. Plus, I didn’t have to run all around Seattle Center to go from one stage to the other, which was much appreciated.
Travis Thompson and SOL, killed their performances, but that was to be expected. I met Seattle/Tacoma foodie TikToker Teena Thach while waiting in the drink line. My nosey butt overheard one of her fans gushing at the chance to meet her, and with me and my love for TikTok I deff introduced myself and gave her a follow. I also popped up at the Yerbana booth and met Cosmos, and Madeline who were so dope and helped me pick out a flavor that I really enjoyed.
I'm honestly not sure if we're going to have any more festivals this year... Actually, I'm sure that we won't because it's getting cold. But I'm hoping that we will be able to continue having concerts and other events. However, we all know how our good sis Delta variant is really running the show at this point and it’s up to her and all of her cousins that seem to keep coming along with her.
If you went to Day In Day Out shoot me a DM on Instagram or TikTok at @besagordon and let me know your favorite performance! Also, if you had any of the food let me know your favorite thing you ate. My favorite things were definitely the Seattle dog and I also had some oysters which were a total vibe too.
