On December 31st, 2021 cultural icon Betty White passed away peacefully in her sleep. The American actress and comedian was so integrated into every aspect of American culture that people refused to believe the shocking news as they stepped into the new year. During her nearly 7 decade career, Betty White continuously challenged expectations as media shifted from one technological advancement, to the next and always breaking barriers and social stigmas. Betty White took on issues such as women rights and racism during her time in Hollywood, all while doing so in the sweetest, sassiest and most respectable way possible. She was funny, she was witty and she always so lovable, especially with her 4-legged friends. Some of Betty White's most notable roles include The Betty White Show which she hosted in the the 40s, The Mary Tyler Moore Show in the 70s The Golden Girls through the 80s and early 90s.
