An 8-year-old girl who survived cancer twice was pushed down by a fan of an opposing team during her first NFL game on Sunday (December 1).

Mia DeCamilla, a San Francisco 49ers fan who lives in Rochester, New York, was shoved out of her seat and down the stairs by an alleged drunk Buffalo Bills fan during the third quarter of the Sunday Night Football game at Highmark Stadium, her family told Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB on Monday (December 2).

“He said, ‘I’m going to push through all these Niner fans,” said Mia’s father Mike DeCamilla, whom she got her Niners fandom from. “So, he actually bumped me and my son a little bit and then got past me and pushed her, almost slid off the stairs and hit her like side on the chairs.”

“The guy purposely walked through and was pushing through people,” Mike added. “I get that it’s busy and hectic, but he had to be 6 foot and she is less than 100 pounds.”

Mia didn't experience any physical injuries, but was emotionally shaken by the incident. The 8-year-old was excited to go to her first ever NFL game, bravely holding up an "I beat cancer" sign through the snowy conditions, but her experience was ruined by the incident, which caused the family to leave early.

“We don’t want to go back because I felt uncomfortable and I just don’t feel ready to go there anymore,” Mia said.

A GoFundMe previously launched to held the DeCamilla family pay for Mia's medical bills received a significant boost after the story went viral and has since doubled its $10,000 goal.
