As relief efforts continue around the southeast following the devastation left behind from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many celebrities have come together to lift spirits and raise funds, from benefit concerts for the battered Carolinas to massive donations from icons like Dolly Parton. Now, another big name has added to the cause — Taylor Swift.

The "Fortnight" singer reportedly donated $5 million to assist in the recovery for those impacted by Helene and Milton, according to Feeding America, a nonprofit fighting against hunger in the United States. The organization shared a message on social media from Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot on Wednesday (October 9) prior to Milton making landfall in Florida, per People.

"We're incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts. This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms," Babineaux-Fontenot said in the statement. "Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need."

Swift's donation to the cause comes days after Parton pledged $1 million to the Mountain Ways Foundation for recovery efforts in East Tennessee, where she "was born and raised," after Hurricane Helene's impact stretched far inland into Tennessee and affecting communities in several states and leaving hundreds dead.

“I just want you to know that I am totally with you because I am part of you," she told the people of East Tennessee, “these are my people. …and this is my home.”
