Unless you have been living under a rock, you would know that earlier in the year Sony decided to flex their muscles in a custody battle for Spider-Man! Sony was trying to take Spider-Man out of the Marvel universe as they own a majority share to the rights of the character.
Thankfully Sony and Marvel came to an agreement that keeps Spider-Man in the MCU. Tom Holland in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel confessed that he had a key role in the negotiation. Tom drunkenly called Disney CEO Bob Iger and emotionally pleaded for Spider-Man to be saved. It worked! What a guy.
