To all of my 27-30+-year-old KUBE listeners, this one might hit a little differently. Today it was announced we lost KUBE 93.3 alumni Harrison Wood, who held down nights on KUBE 93.3 with DJ B-Mello. Not sure how he passed away, but it wouldn’t be right to not pay respects to Harrison Wood who was here before I even knew radio was a possibility for me.
I asked a few people about their memories of Harrison Wood and everyone said the same thing, he was a great guy, never a bad vibe, he pushed for local music on the radio, and was big in the community. Check out a few memories of him when he was at KUBE!
It’s the energy for me! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see Harrison Wood loved radio, which is the whole point in finding a career vs a job right? You can do something that you simply clock in and out of, or you can do something that keeps you up at night and makes you not only want to put on for yourself but for your city.
Shoutout to former KUBE DJ, DJ B-Mello for helping me gather these photos of Harrison Wood. When I told B-Mello Harrison’s energy was motivational he said “True. He was definitely one of a kind. Down to Earth and not like most in the industry. He really loved radio.”
