The wait is almost over! This Friday rap superstar Drake will be releasing his highly anticipated sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy. Fans have been waiting for the project to drop since it was announced in 2020 with the release of Lil Durk-assisted single "Laugh Now, Cry Later". However, the project was postponed multiple times for various reasons such as Drake tearing his ACL. With only 4 days left until it's release, the 6 God decided to tease fans with billboards reading lyrics from the album throughout his native city of Toronto, Canada. “I don’t miss…Let alone miss you,” says one, while another reads: “Should’ve said you loved me today because tomorrow is a new day.” A third billboard includes the words, “Something other than me has got to give.” Get those twitter fingers ready because you know Drizzy's going to give a bunch of potential captions and statuses to carry us into the winter! In addition to posting the lyrics throughout the city, Drake also rode around Toronto giving fans Certified Lover Boy themed shirts!
Earlier this week, Drake revealed the cover to the album which features 9 pregnant emoji symbols. Interestingly, the album's release comes exactly 9 months following it's original January 9th, 2021 release date. Due to the nature of the album cover, title and lyrics, fans suppose that this will be an R&B-leaning, baby-making project. However Ebro Darden of Apple Music claims her heard the album and it's "straight-rap". Either way, I hope the anticipation meets the hype with the well-developed, well-pieced album Drake's capable of ... similar to 2011's Take Care or even 2013's Nothing Was The Same. Honestly, I haven't been feeling his latest release. I'm an OG Drake fan so I'm hoping for another classic! Currently details on Certified Lover Boy's track listing and collaborators remain on hush, so I guess we'll have to wait until Friday to sound off! Until then, let me know what your anticipating with Drake's Certified Lover Boy on Instagram @BennettKnows!
